Jamie Lee started singing at the age of 10. She attended singing lessons with her first singing coach, Christine Bullough. She has been performing since the age of 11, in 2001, in various concerts and local events.In 2002 Jamie started performing in the club circuit. She toured with "The Applejacks" and then later that year started performing on her own. September 2002 Jamie wrote her first song (which was in the style of rap) "get a life" and went to London.In London she worked with Ben Finden producer/songwriter, Steve Rowland from the USA and vocal coach Stevie Van Lang. Between 2002 and 2003 Jamie appeared on national T.V. and appeared in newspapers to promote the anti drug song "get a life". The programmes she appeared on were GMTV, LK today, and Sky One, she also attended a radio interview at BBC Radio Leeds.Jamie was also awarded with the Princess Diana Award for the anti drugs song in 2001 & 2002, school years.At the beginning of 2003 Jamie shot a music video for promotional purposes in Leeds, and a video was also produced in London at Ellie Jay studios in Boreham Wood, for the promotion of her song "get a life".After writing her first song Jamie-Lee then continued to write her own material. To do this she started going to a recording studio and one which she has relied on ever since. She co-produces her songs there with studio owner Neil Duty.In November 2003 Jamie started to headline, and perform with a band of session musicians doing the rock venues around the country. Performing her own material that she writes and co produces.Then in September 2004 having performed in over 80 venues Paul Russell ( EX Sony) and Terrie Doughty came to see her perform at a gig in Scarborough, and since then have been following Jamie's career very closely.In July 2005, Jamie put a new young band around her and started to gig once again after a short break. She also completed material for her very 1st album. Also in 2005 Jamie started to attend Lessons with a new Vocal Coach, Peter Firmani, after 6 years with her first coach. She now trains her voice to sing Musical Theatre and classical songs. In 2006 she completed her grade 8 in Musical Theatre.To Present Date - 2007Since December 2005 Jamie-Lee has taken time out from performing Live with a band to go back to the studios writing and recording new material. Jamie, by doing this, has achieved interest with publishing companies and is looking to achieve a publishing deal. She is also studying for her musical Theatre diploma which she is examined in, in July 2007.
Jamie is now finishing off the album Background View and getting ready to once again hit the road. Hopefully tour dates will start towards the middle of this year. So keep an eye on our TOURS page.
